Here is how we work with you to build your part:

The easiest way to specify a custom adapter is to tell us where the part is to be used: We maintain an extensive knowledge base of specifications on telescopes, cameras and accessories and we can usually quickly determine sizes, threads, diameters and finish for a part to match a specific instrument or accessory.
If the above is not feasible, you can also send us specifications through an engineering drawing, a rough draft, or just email or FAX a description. You can also send us a sample, for example to build a replica of a damaged part. You can send us a part that is similar to the one you need but maybe has different dimensions or is made of some other material.
Another approach is to give us a description of a specific requirement and let us design a solution if such is within our competency: we specialize in precision machining one-of-a-kind metal parts (as well as certain plastics) which are either difficult or impossible to find commercially or are no longer manufactured due to product discontinuance or other reasons.
We clearly understand you may not have a detailed engineering drawing readily available and we can work with you to understand your needs.
Please be aware however that sometimes "too much" information may be detrimental: if a specification is widely used commercially, such as a common thread for a Takahashi or an Astro-Physics telescope, we most likely already have the full specification on file and only the type and model number of the particular instrument is needed.

In any case, before starting the part, we will confirm with you our understanding of the specifications and clear up any questions or doubts. If you prefer, we can produce a professional engineering drawing of your part in Adobe® Acrobat PDF format and forward it electronically for your approval. If you do elect to have a drawing made, there will be an additional charge of 50% of the estimated cost of the part.
Once the part is finished, a digital photo can be emailed upon request prior to shipment.

We strive to provide a fast lead time. Exact turnaround time will depend on the complexity of the specifications as well as the type of material desired. Please contact us with your requirements.

We ship either via UPS or via US Postal Service anywhere in the continental U.S. The UPS tracking number is e-mailed to you as soon as the part leaves our door. We ship via USPS Express Mail International to destinations worldwide.

We will only charge when we ship the part. Please note that the minimum charge per order is US$30.00.
We prefer for payments. PayPal accepts most credit cards. We also accept personal checks in US$ for United States domestic orders.
You can also pay with PayPal via credit card directly on our secure website if you have a reference number to identify your order.
